return to form (take that, haters!) hits at the body repeatedly, slamming away with a lack of abandon and a new sense of protocol. major stars are known for being psychedelic rock journeymen (and journey lovin women), but of late, their rocks psych roots seem to be dyed platinum white, with a truckers cap shoved on top of the whole mess. its jukebox ready hard rock with a hallucinogenic edge, sure ? or perhaps its just the impact of their triple guitar git down, causing your head to throb with concussive force? dont worry, long time star children ? these guys still jam, but they ve got short numbers too, and wailing, roadhouse vocals sailing over the punch ups. a terrific variety, but a return to form? pffft! what form? these guys have been in plasma state forever! whatever form it takes, thats what it is. and major stars are presently shining on in white dwarf style ? compacted, but with a violent gleam.

here we roll after a long pause back to musik krause. toting three nuggets brought to you with care which are somewhere between gentle hardcore with a weakness for the horns, and a warm coolness that finds its place without the chocolate cake. whoever thinks that what i am doing here is again on a peppermint accordion ditty got it twisted. dark, complex and almost avant gard-ish hearty.

christian loefflers raise ep is one of the most stunning pieces of recorded electronic music - at least thats what glitterbug and the rest of c.sides thought when the demo was first played back in their cologne studio, and they have been in love ever since.

the d arcangelo brothers somehow forgot about the downtempo side of things for this ep on the warm and freaky 030303 imprint. unlike on their releases for rephlex we hear mid and highspeed chicago influenced stuff thats a big treat for fans of gescom, stinkworx and afx (some stuff brings back memories of his helston flora mix of baby fords normal). mind you, theres still a distinctive d arcangelo sound to all of this jackin. what are all those false and sleepy melodies for? to confuse us? what a mindfuck this psychedelic minialbum is!

aardvarck, boris werner, san proper and sotu the traveler deliver the goods here and do what they do best, creating a diverse set of mixes. boris delivers an even deeper mix of >lost in the streets of nyc<, which is already being played by the likes of ricardo villalobos et al. aardvarck roughens up >on the side< in his well-known cultcopy style. while san proper discofies >use me< and sotu morphs the title track into a dubstep/house hybrid. new shit!
